The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild

What We Do

Monthly Meetings

The Guild meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month from September to May. See the calendar for the location. Monthly meetings usually involve a presentation by a guest speaker, a 'show & tell' of members' projects, business announcements, and social time to visit each other, the library, the 'show & tell' items, the raffle table, and the guest speaker's items. Meetings are a perfect time to get help with any difficulties you are experiencing with your own projects.

Knitters' Fair

Every September, the Guild hosts a specialized event with many vendors offering the latest and greatest knitting products.
Full details may be found on our Knitters' Fair pages.

Knitters' Retreat

The next annual Knitters' Retreat will be held at Brentwood on the Beach, a luxury Bed & Breakfast located at St. Joseph Shores on Lake Huron, in April. Please see the calendar for the specific dates of the next retreat. The cost of $270.00 includes accommodation and meals for the weekend. If you are interested, please contact Zona Endres.

National Knit In the Park Day

Every August on National Knit in the Park Day, knitters across Canada gather in public places to knit and promote our craft. Check our calendar for particulars.

Adjudicated Show

Every second year, Guild members submit knitted projects to be modeled in a fashion show after being adjudicated by a guest designer. This is a celebration of the diversity of members’ interests and creativity.

Other Functions

All members are also invited to attend these informal Guild groups.

  • Knit 'n Chat — fourth Tuesday of every month. Although this is the official Knit 'n Chat night, there is usually someone at the Knit 'n Chat every Tuesday other than Guild meeting nights. We meet throughout the year.
